Communities

For wherever two or three are gathered in my name, there am I, in their midst.

THREE in ONE

Currently, there are three communities in our church — English-speaking, Slovak, and Syro-Malabar.

English

The English-speaking community is based at St. Anthony’s parish in Kraainem, where most of its activities take place.  Our church therefore serves mainly as a branch. Sunday Masses are celebrated at 19:15. The community is currently under the responsibility of Father Marceline Suman.

Slovak

The history of the Slovak-speaking community is linked to the establishment of the Slovak Catholic Mission in Brussels in 2007. Since then, the community has become well established in the church, where it conducts all its spiritual activities. Sunday masses in Slovak are celebrated at 10:00. Since August 2019, the mission has been led by Father Marek Sitár.

Syro-Malabar

The Syro-Malabar community is an Eastern Catholic Church based primarily in Kerala, India, with a large, vibrant global diaspora. Tracing its origins to St. Thomas the Apostle, the community is renowned for being “Indian in culture, Christian in faith, and Syriac in liturgy.” The community began celebrating Mass in our church in June 2026 after the prior departure of the Polish community. The Sunday Mass is celebrated at 15:00.
