Upgrade of the sound system

For several years, our parish has been facing recurring difficulties with the church’s sound system. The current installation was never professionally designed as a coherent system, and this has led to a number of issues: delays with wireless microphones, feedback (whistling sounds), unexpected sound cuts, uneven volume levels, and the need for readers and celebrants to speak in a very specific way in order to be heard clearly. At times, speech has been difficult to understand, which affects the quality of our celebrations.

For this reason, we included in this year’s budget an amount to improve and modernize the sound system. We contacted the company ADC Sonorisation SRL, which carried out a sound test and acoustic measurements in the church at the end of 2025. Based on these measurements and a detailed evaluation of the existing equipment, they provided us with a price offer including several options. In their evaluation of the current installation, they concluded that the overall quality of the existing equipment is insufficient to obtain clear and intelligible sound, especially in such a highly reverberant building, and that the present loudspeakers do not adequately reproduce higher frequencies, which further reduces speech clarity. Based on these measurements and findings, they provided us with a price offer including several options. One of the main changes proposed is to replace most of the currently used wireless microphones with high-quality wired microphones, which are more stable and reliable in a highly reverberant building such as our church.

After careful consideration, the Fabrique decided to accept the offer and to opt for several additional improvements, including the installation of a second column speaker to ensure a better sound distribution and the addition of an extra wireless microphone for specific pastoral needs.

However, the total expected cost of the project amounts to more than EUR 16,000, which significantly exceeds the EUR 5,000 initially foreseen in this year’s budget. As we also have other necessary projects to finance this year, we would like to launch an additional collection to cover the costs exceeding the budget.

This special collection will take place after each Sunday Mass, where parishioners can contribute via a bank terminal using a bank card. Another option is to contribute through the donation form below or by making a bank transfer to the following bank account:

We thank you in advance for your generosity and your support in helping us improve the quality of our liturgical celebrations.

God bless you!

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
